CVRF offers community service programs to the twenty member villages it serves; in some communities, this may include limited burial or memorial support. Assistance is generally restricted to residents of CVRF communities, and policies are set by local governing bodies.

CITC’s Family Services program may help with burial expenses for eligible Alaska Native/American Indian individuals who have resided within the Municipality of Anchorage for the past six consecutive months. Eligibility is income-based, proof of residency is required, and next of kin must apply promptly; assistance is based on available funds.

U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA)
Needs-based cash assistance program for eligible American Indian and Alaska Native individuals and families. Burial assistance may be available as a secondary program and usually requires applying concurrently with at least one other resource and completing an extensive application.
